Fusion Dance Gent

Mix your (partner)dance ingredients, on Kula Dance's monthly Fusion Dance Night! Every 1st Tuesday of the month.
Balfolk, blues, contact impro, tango, hip-hop, salsa, zouk, ballet, lindy hop, ecstatic dance, kizomba,...Bring your own style to the floor!
Out of the box, into the moment…
Improvise to various music styles, alone or with a partner.
We break free from gender roles, and even within the same dance, you can switch between leading and following.

GUIDELINES
-
Consent is key. Ask & respect a "no”.
-
Everyone can invite each other (non-)verbally to dance a(nother) song.
-
Check in with your dance partner: do you want to lead, follow or switch?
-
Ask if your partner is comfortable with a close embrace, with lifts or dips.
-
Does a dance feel uncomfortable? Be creative: how can I make it a pleasant/inspiring experience? Express your needs and boundaries. At any time you can end a dance.
-
There are spaceholders you can ask support to & that insure a safe concensual space.
-
If someone felt uncomfortable in the interaction with you, listen attentively, give apologies if needed & learn from the experience.
-
This is an alcohol-free dance party.
-
Between the opening and closing circles, conversation is kept to a minimum, for example, to ask consent or to ask a question during the class. We stay as much as possible out of the mind, in the body.
